College turns you into a real person. It is where you acquire the interests that drive you for the rest of your life and where you meet the people that you will remember through it all. It gives you experiences to laugh about and experiences to cry about. It prepares you for real life.

But for some people it doesn't. Go to college somewhere far far away. You may think you are making yourself dead to the world... but weedle had to turn into a kakuna before it could be a beedrill.

What is a Druggie?

People who do a lot of drugs are less emotionally involved in things. They are detached. Some people say that it seems like not everything is there. What is this and what does it actually mean?

Some really bitchy person once made up the saying "the plural of anecdote is not data" but heres my story projected as an assumption of the thought process of users and abusers.

I stand 5 feet behind myself. Do I feel cool? Do drugs make you cool? Yes. In the sense that I am ready for anything, and nothing seems to phase me, I am very cool. Watching the difference in the way that people treat me as a drug user has been very interesting. Visiting home and admitting to being a smoker was a very interesting experience as the kid who sold to my high school immediately gave me new respect (after I admitted to chilling two to three times a day). Being cool is nothing but drawing on other peoples insecurities. When they feel like something should be funny and you don't react, they are surprised and delve for the emotion they are searching for. Each person is looking for some sort of control, looking to steer the conversation towards something that they know, are familiar with, and can lead. Blowing all of that off leads to an interesting void in a conversation and a willingness to let that silence sit forces the other person to search for ways to fill it.

The only real people are those who go forward with their lives regardless of other people. Many people adapt to fit a situation, but as everything is constantly changing those people are either clinging to the past or are indefinable. Ignore it. Live your life. Enjoy it. And dont put up with shit you dont want to.

Back to the real point. A person who uses drugs sees their psyche as something controllable. They know their mind better than any other type of person. Someone who only eats American food knows nothing about its defining features without comparing it to something else. Drug users know themselves in so many states, they can pinpoint exactly what is themselves and what is situational. This understanding gives incredible perspective on any/everything.

PS, im thinking about dropping a class. 90% sure im going to do it. Meeting with the dean

Confidence

Professor Well, your class has changed my life. The idea that nothing lasts is so firmly branded into my mind because of both your constant repetition and the fact that I can see it everywhere around me. Living life in the instant, there is no time for hesitation. Strike forward with exactly what feels right in the moment because any consequences will be as passing as the seconds spent reading this. Your class has given me confidence. Perhaps it is better called recklessness but I, for one, couldn’t give a damn.

  • I love to spray paint things
  • I would love to be a movie director

Lost in College

We all are, and the sooner that you realize that the people who have decided exactly what they are going to do with their lives are being far more childish than those who are rushing forwards with no plan at all, the sooner you will be happy.

Any plan you make is settling for less; instead remember that rhythm is nothing. Go with the flow, just dont stop. Absolutely nothing lasts. Embrace it, don't be sad.
